There is more to having your hair done than a good shampoo and shorter hair.

Great stylists understand that they are creating an interpretation of how the client wants to feel when he or she looks into a mirror.

Attention Beauty Professi
So... you think you want extensions?? Some things to think about...

Extensions are hot! No doubt, but you'd better understand what you are getting in to, before you give your money to someone who promises you long, beautiful hair.

Currently there are no license requirements for applying extensions. This means anyone can hang out a shingle and proclaim themselves an expert. However, many things can, and do go wrong with untrained persons applying extensions.

  • Inferior hair causes matting, and just because the person selling the hair claims it is the best quality this is not necessarily so. It is very difficult to determine just by looking at the hair whether it is of good quality. Today there are many ways to cosmetically enhance the hair so it appears to be of good quality, but after a few washings those conditioners wash away leaving straw that mats easily and breaks off with very little stress.
  •
When the extension hair starts matting, your own hair is locked into the mat and may need to be cut at the scalp to undo the damage.
  • The color is not stable in inferior hair and after a few washings it may become another color entirely, making it stand out and shout "extensions!!"
  • Untrained persons applying extensions do not know how to evaluate your hair to determine if you will have success in keeping your extensions where they were originally placed.
  • Hair extensions need special care with specific products to assure they will last and continue to look great-did your hair extension person tell you about this? We do...
  • There are several methods of attaching hair extensions, how will you know which is best for your hair?

Christine Hanson has been working with various methods of hair additions since 1990, and has the training and experience to understand which attachment methods work best, and to sort out marketing myths for you so you can have confidence that your extension will look natural, and be easy to care for.
